Why Was REF Pakistan Formed?
REF Pakistan was formed in response to the need for a coherent, credible, and nationally consistent system for assessing research excellence in Pakistan. Prior to REF Pakistan, research evaluation and funding decisions were fragmented, largely output-count driven, and insufficiently linked to societal benefit, institutional capacity, or long-term national priorities.
